The manufacturers fight for first place in Europe, like Samsung gaining ground in the U.S.

Kantar Worldpanel has released data for the three months to April 2014 , which show an increase in the number of structures that compete for top positions in the European market smartphone. The report also shows Android remains in the lead when it comes to overall market share smartphone. Google has 70 percent in the five major European markets and 51 percent in the USA . While iOS maintains a comfortable second place in all areas , Windows Phone continues to rise steadily as the underdog .

One of the biggest beneficiaries of the latest report on manufacturers is Huawei, which has experienced a surge of 123 percent in the five major European markets during the past year . Over in China , the local representative of Samsung Xiaomi exceeded for the second time in April , recording RedMi proving to be the popular choice among local consumers in this region .

Samsung has almost caught up with Apple in the U.S., with a market share of 34.1 percent and 34.6 percent , respectively . The development also brings Android fragmentation with many manufacturers trying to compete for first place in Europe , USA and Asia. The war itself platform has begun to heat up with Microsoft to bridge the gap on Apple's iOS in hopes that Windows Phone 8.1 will solve most of the disadvantages.
