Giefroot: The new Root method for series devices Xperia Z3 with locked Bootloader

Xperia Z3
Having one Android device in your hands, sooner or later you will want to do root, first to use applications that have the condition and secondly to upgrade your device with a custom ROM. Usually the first step is to unlock the bootloader, but for the Xperia devices, this would be disastrous because of the loss of keys DRM.

Although we have already seen one root method for the Xperia Z3, the Giefroot came to us do the work without unlocking the bootloader. So we have root in our device, while we can save and TA partition containing the DRM keys. A prerequisite unfortunately, is to have our older device firmware from October 2014 (before 23.0.A.2.93), but this may be changed, and it is also easy to find the * .ftf file and install via Flashtool .

Conditions

The method therefore works in Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact and to test it should have the following:

  • On the "debug" the device
  • Enabled "False Sites" (located under "Developer options")
  • Established the ADB driver on our computer if you use Windows
The process

Follow the procedure at your own risk!

  • Remove the file Giefroot and decompress it on our computer.
  • We put our device in "Airplane mode" and connect to the computer.
  • Run the file "install.bat" and follow the onscreen instructions.
  • If the process fails fail ("Device not rooted") try a second time.
Admittedly it is a method with strange conditions (False Sites) but the result is worth it. Currently in second edition and can be downloaded from the thread at XDA.

Flashtool is the Ultimate Tool for Sony Xperia Device Owners

Flashtool
One of the biggest advantages acquired by the holder of a device of Sony, is the fact that many people deal with them and so there are many tools that will help him to save her if something goes wrong. As Samsung has the Odin and Heimdall, Sony has the Flashtool, a powerful tool with similar capabilities. His work Flashtool is basically install official firmware on devices of Sony, but has the potential to unlock the bootloader on devices that allow and do root. The files that need to be of the form Flashtool * .ftf (Flash Tool File) and can be removed from whole ROM to a kernel operates on Linux, Mac and Windows unlike Odin. In more detail and take them one by one, the most common way to do root in a Xperia device is through the installation of a rooted (or insecure) kernel. The kernel packed in files * .ftf which we will see later how easily be installed. As for unlocking the bootloader, can not do many things because the Sony devices have encrypted bootloader, but there is the official way. What is of value to the whole process is that Sony devices have a so-called "TA" partition containing all licenses for proprietary applications. Once you unlock the bootloader, the partition is deleted and so we can not now use these applications, so before doing anything we should do backup my TA partition. Third and best feature of Flashtool is to install the official firmware from Sony. We can help to return to official ROM, to correct our device from softbrick and do downgrade to an older version of Android because known upgrades Sony Xperia do crawl. So we will give an example of using Flashtool you would install an official firmware from Sony in a device with a locked bootloader.
Flashtool

What we need

Required for installation will attempt are:

the official firmware from Sony for our device, which you can find in many pages as in XperiaFirmware.com and Flashtool.net.

The process

Follow the procedure at your own risk!

After you install the Flashtool go to folder
  • "Firmwares" and delete everything.
  • Take the official firmware if it is compressed and decompress until you see the file with extension * .ftf.
  • Take the * .ftf file and store it in the folder "firmwares" of Flashtool.
  • Run the Flashtool, select the button with the thunder and then the "Flashmode".
  • We will display a new window to select the firmware you want to install, and if we only have a folder "firmwares" will show us just one.

Flashtool

So choose the firmware on the left, in the center we see the contents and on the right we check all options under the "Wipe".
In the "Exclude" tick "TA" if you do not want to midiagrafei the TA partition we said earlier in the "Misc" the "No Final Verification" and click "Flash".
The Flashtool will give us instructions on how to put our device in bootloader mode (by pressing the Back key or the Volume Down at the start) and will ask us to connect to our computer via USB.
Once done all this will start the installation which has just finished will make our device to reboot, meaning the end.

The same procedure applies to install any * .ftf file if you own Android device of Sony, you should at least know what it can do for you Flashtool. More information on the official page.

9 Things you did not know that it makes the series Xperia Z3 awesome

The devices of Sony NFC had before even becoming popular. This means that you, and you can use your Xperia smartphone for payments, transfers or postcard entry with a single touch, as early as 2012 with the Xperia S.

Try the new pause function when recording a video, which allows you to "freeze" the record instead of the stop, only to capture the moments that you really want. Continue pulling exactly where you left off until you have finished your video and all the different clips captured will be stored one after another in the same file.

Record everything you do on your mobile screen
Always have the opportunity to take screenshot on your mobile screen since launch the Android. In turn Xperia Z3 we go one step further by adding the ability to shoot video than you do on the screen. The procedure is exactly the same and is ideal to show off certain functions of the device, save video games to play and so on.

Faster settings
Let's be honest - the settings are not like anyone. That is why we continually strive to make it easier and faster. The latest version of the Z3 series allows you to personalize your settings faster than ever. Just drag two fingers downward to display all settings, then easily drag & drop those that need or hold any icon to go to the detailed menu.

Longer battery life of up to one week
We said that the Xperia Z3 battery will last up to two days on a single charge. Activating the Battery STAMINA Mode will last even longer. And turning the Ultra STAMINA Mode (which limits a number of features of the device), we estimate that the battery will last more than a week on standby.

Automatic screen rotation, depending on how you hold the device
Does this sound normal? The smart screen rotation automatically determines when the monitor should be rotated depending on how you hold the device. So, to prevent unwanted rotation, such as when you lie down on the couch to surf the internet.

The Sony Xperia Z3 officially launched a Z2S

The Sony seems to set up six months of time known as the flagship of the z system and now Xperia Z3 is true.
Sony Xperia Z3

At first sight of the technical details look very similar to those of Z2, and going to see the full.

In the heart of the device beats the Snapdragon 801 again followed by GPU Adreno 330. Nevertheless the SoC is now the 8974-Jaron unlike 8974-AB of the previous model. On the screen that 5,2 inch.

Sony Xperia Z3 BackBattery less than the previous model, and 3100mAh, which is Sony and the size of the unit (especially the solid.)

Still camera 20,7MP, but most of the 22mm long and the fact that up to 12600, to promise better shots than its predecessor. This fact remains invisible.

Sony Xperia Z3 SideAbout the fact that Sony released a device very similar technical characteristics of the various flagship. Furthermore, there is now a days its Snapdragon devices 805 and Adreno 420 from Sony marriage seems a bit "poor" as one would expect the best flagship SoC inside. On the other hand I have to admit that I have good impressions left by design.

The movement of the device are expected later in September, when the funds are not yet known. (Although we 700+ as the first job is very safe "bet".)

Sony Xperia: Teaser indicates extremely waterproof smartphone or tablet

The IFA 2014 is just around the corner, but Sony is not tired to post more teaser. With the latest information for upcoming Xperia products the viewer finds himself at the bottom of a swimming pool again - a smartphone or tablet not you see there though, but with the lettering "2m?". This little subtle message is likely to be an indication that the upcoming Xperia devices can withstand more severe extreme conditions under water.

A unique feature of the flagships of Sony introduced at the beginning of the era of Full HD smartphones protection against water and dust is: An IP55 / 57 certification, as they had the Sony Xperia Z (test) at the time, was actually Outdoor smartphones reserved accordingly, an exciting feature. Well, times have changed and but also competitor products such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 can demonstrate appropriate IP standards. A new teaser According to Sony in 2014 but could imagine at IFA devices, which may have a considerably better protection against water. The picture is actually out of the water and the bottom of a swimming pool is not much to see - in the middle but denounces the question followed by the hashtag "SonyIFA" "2m?". Therefore quite possible that the presented tools, such as the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact, perhaps as the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, 2 meters depth, or even be able to survive more easily.

The Sony Xperia and Xperia Z2 Z2 tablet certified to IP58 standard against water and can therefore already for half an hour to a depth of 1.5 meters survive under water. So far, this is considered the highest possible degree of water density, which is possible with mobile devices. If the new smartphones and tablets from Sony so actually dives can make in extreme depths, the equipment for serious swimmers should certainly be more attractive - which also represent for the Xperia Z2 apparently six weeks under water not a big problem. We are in any case at the launch of the new Sony device at the IFA on site and will provide you with all the information in a timely manner.

Could you benefit from smart phones, which are more than 2 meters of water? Tell us about your application scenario in the comments.
