New Aluminum-ion Battery Charges in one Minutes

We have come today to have in our mobile QHD screens and powerful processors, but the perennial problem called "battery" remains unresolved. Often see researchers to discover something new, but for now if we see any real progress in practice.

Scientists from Stanford University are working on a new innovation that could bring higher performance aluminum ion batteries that charge very quickly, are more economical and last longer.

Unlike lithium-ion batteries under what specific conditions can explode this battery Stanford University has no such risk.

The battery is made up of two electrodes, a cathode is positively charged and the other negatively charged anode aluminum. The battery combines an aluminum anode and a cathode of graphite, together with an ionic liquid electrolyte within a flexible "pouch."

The tests showed that the aluminum ion batteries have 7500 recharge cycles without losing any of their skills. Similarly, lithium batteries have approximately 1000 cycles. Given therefore the possibility to charge the battery in 1 minute, talking about very significant development.

Moreover, aluminum is cheaper than lithium, so the batteries are more economical while the fact that it is flexible and can allow for better development of flexible smartphones.

To say that yet road until you come to the market this technology, but it certainly is an important development.
