There seems to be no particular order in which Google upgrades to Android 5.1 to Nexus.
Many newer Nexus is still on the waiting list, the "old" but the Nexus 7 2012 3G, already upgraded to Android 5.1.
Physical stress that is pleasing that Google still upgrade a device that is "closed" in just the three years of existence. Let me remind you that the N7 2012 had begun life with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean -elave major updates to 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 5.0- to arrive today in Android 5.1, passing naturally from many minor bugfix releases.
The upgraded Factory Image for the device went on the servers of Google and is available for download. Of course the flashing of the new version requires you to unlock the bootloader, and have installed the necessary -fastboot adb- and tools on your computer.
The Build Number of upgrading is LMY47D, the same set and Update of WiFi Only version.
Most of the Nexus upgraded to Lollipop, the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 2012 WiFi, Nexus 7 2012 3G, Nexus Player and Nexus 10 have received the 5.1 Update, while the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2013 WiFi, Nexus 7 2013 4G and Nexus 9 are on Android 5.0.x.
One last point - Above proposal perhaps heard as "complaint". I feel infinitely better an update delayed for a month or two, but be careful, but given something untidy publicly.
